The newly elected Key Club officers met yesterday, the first real day of school at Manhattan High. Their planning session included brainstorming on potential service projects, fundraisers, and what their meetings will look like from week to week. Key club plans to continue to recycle at the school, and they are considering a project to build better recycling containers for teachers to use. They are very interested in helping out on the Kiwanis project to create a more accessible and attractive space overlooking the Manhattan sign on Bluemont Hill. Kiwanis members Laurie Johnson and Ken Johnson attended the meeting and covered some officer training topics. Key club plans to meet each Wednesday after school, sometimes doing recycling, sometimes conducting a service project, and sometimes planning or just having a good time!
