Kiwanis Completes Rock Springs Pledge

On Saturday December 1st more than 100 Kiwanians from across the state representing more than 40 clubs gathered at Rock Springs 4-H Camp to celebrate the final payment of the quarter million dollar pledge made by the Kansas District of Kiwanis International.

The money was used to rehab the lower level of Heritage Hall which has been renamed The Kansas Kiwanis Conference Center.

Kiwanians from across Kansas recognize the experiences provided at Rock Springs are foundations to growing Kansas leaders and serving today’s families and communities.

The final payment was presented to Jake Worcester, president and CEO of the Kansas 4-H Foundation by Dave Hurrelbrink co-chair of the Kiwanis project.

Kiwanis has utilized Rock Springs for a mid-year meeting and the Key Leader leadership program has been held at the facility for the past several years. Kiwanis leaders have stated that the partnership formed with the 4-H Foundation for this project is a good mix and will definitely continue in the future. This sentiment was echoed by Worcester who stated that he was impressed that Kiwanis stepped up, made the original commitment and fulfilled the pledge.
