Key Club District Convention Coming Up!

This year, thirteen members of Key Club from Manhattan High School will be attending the District Convention in Wichita. The conference starts on March 15 and ends on March 17, and its theme is “Service Carnival!” Students at DCON can attend panels and discussion groups to learn more about leadership and service.  District-level officers are elected at DCON. Currently MHS Key Club member Duru Dogan is Lt. Governor of District 4, but her term will be coming to an end and a new Lt. Governor will be elected. Let’s hope other MHS members will run for this and other positions, and we want to say a big “thank you” to Duru for doing an outstanding job!

MHS Key Club is sponsored by our Manhattan Kiwanis evening club and also gets assistance from Solar Kiwanis.

Here’s more information from the latest District 4 Key Club newsletter:

District Convention will be held March 15-17 at the Wichita Marriott on 9100 East Corporate Hills Drive. Our theme is carnival so get ready for fun games and prizes! Throughout the weekend, we’ll be host a variety of speakers, interactive workshops, games, and contests to celebrate the service that Kansas’s Key Clubs have accomplished throughout the past year. DCON is a great opportunity to expand your leadership
skills and see how Key Club is applicable even outside of your school or hometown. You’ll also get the chance to run for state board if you’d like. We will discuss mental health, diversity, Key Club preferred charities, hold new officer training, talk about International convention, and opportunities beyond Key Club.
